Renewable Energy
As worldwide demand for electricity increases, it’s estimated that we will need 30% more electricity by 2030. Climate change concerns are also driving consumers to look for alternative energy sources including renewables.
More than 4% of the power Wabash Valley Power Association supplies to Citizens Electric is generated from renewable resources including wind, solar, landfills and biogas from cattle waste.
Since Citizens Electric is a not-for-profit utility, it supports self-generation provided a member completes the Corporation’s application process and interconnection request and complies by the terms and conditions to insure the safety of the system and the utility’s line personnel.
