Live Line Demonstrations

Kyle Finley, an experienced lineman and entertaining safety communicator, presented three Live Line Demonstrations at the Ste. Genevieve County Fair on July 14, 2007.

Among other things, his straight-forward message addressed the following:

• Vehicular accidents involving utility poles and lines.
• Rescuing someone who has been involved in an accident involving electric lines.
• Protecting your family by installing ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCI) near water sources and outdoors.
• Using electrical outlet covers to protect small children.
• Beware when flying Mylar balloons or kites around electric lines.
• How do animals cause power outages?
